Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Yurescko-Suhan.
Hi Nancy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was created in 2015, almost by accident. While providing DJ services at a Sweet 16 party, I noticed the photo booth they had rented and thought, “I could build something better.” At the time, it was simply a camera connected to a printer and operated by a photographer. It worked, but it didn’t feel like the fun, interactive experience people expected from a photo booth.
After that party, my husband and I started talking about what a better photo booth experience could look like. We tossed around ideas and initially considered creating a traditional enclosed photo booth. However, we quickly realized that transporting, setting up, and tearing down a large booth would be challenging. We wanted something portable, reliable, and easy to use at any venue.
Not long after, a client asked if we offered photo booth services alongside our DJ services. Even though we hadn’t built one yet, we confidently said, “Yes!” That opportunity pushed us into action, and we quickly designed and built our first open-air photo booth system. We completed the build just in time for the event, where we DJed and operated the photo booth ourselves. It was a huge success and confirmed that we were onto something special.
We chose the name Lotsa Laffs because we wanted people to have fun and laugh while taking photos. From the beginning, our goal wasn’t just to take pictures. It was to create an experience. We make sure every event has a great selection of fun props and accessories that help guests relax, be themselves, and create memorable photos. Some of the best pictures happen when people put on a silly hat, grab an oversized pair of glasses, or pose with friends in a way they normally wouldn’t.
Since then, Lotsa Laffs has continued to evolve. We’ve upgraded our software, expanded our backdrop collection, created hundreds of custom photo strip templates, and added new services to enhance the guest experience. What started as a simple add-on to our DJ business has grown into a standalone entertainment company serving weddings, corporate events, schools, and private parties throughout the region.
Along the way, our business has truly become a family affair. What began with my husband and me has grown to include our two daughters, who are now owners alongside us. We are proud to be a family-owned, women-owned business, and each of us plays a role in helping create memorable experiences for our clients. Being able to build something together as a family has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
In 2025, we took another major step forward by introducing two new video experiences powered by drone technology: a 360 Booth and a Glambot-style video system. Instead of relying on bulky pedestals, robotic arms, or large machines, our setup uses a drone, lightweight stands, and laptops to create dynamic, cinematic content. The drone-powered 360 Booth captures smooth, immersive videos from every angle, while the Glambot-style experience delivers dramatic slow-motion footage that makes guests feel like celebrities on the red carpet. These innovations allow us to provide cutting-edge experiences while keeping our equipment portable, efficient, and easy to set up at virtually any venue. It’s another example of our commitment to combining creativity, technology, and practicality to create unforgettable memories for our clients and their guests.
Today, Lotsa Laffs continues to focus on combining technology, creativity, and customer service to create experiences that bring people together, make them laugh, and leave them with memories they can take home and enjoy for years to come. Whether it’s a wedding, school event, corporate gathering, or private celebration, our goal remains the same as it was in 2015: to make people smile, have fun, and create lots of laughs.
Snap It. Spin It. Star in It.
That simple phrase captures what we do. From traditional photo booth photos to immersive 360 videos and cinematic Glambot experiences, we give guests the chance to be part of the moment, have fun with friends and family, and take-home memories they’ll never forget.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any new business, getting started and growing takes a lot of time, patience, and a willingness to learn new skills.
In the beginning, I had to teach myself almost everything. I learned how to create custom photo strip templates and borders, operate the photo booth software, troubleshoot printer jams, manage camera settings, and set up and tear down equipment quickly and efficiently. Every event taught us something new, and there was a lot of trial and error along the way. I spent countless hours learning new software, researching equipment, and figuring out how to create a better experience for our clients.
Technology has also presented its share of challenges. Printers jam, software needs updating, equipment wears out, and venues all have different layouts and requirements. We’ve learned to always have backup equipment and contingency plans because when you’re providing entertainment at a live event, there’s no option to pause and come back later.
One challenge we encountered repeatedly was power. There were many times when clients placed us in locations where there wasn’t an electrical outlet nearby. Other times, we were specifically asked to set up outdoors or in unique spaces where no power was available at all. Rather than turning down those opportunities, we invested in innovative solutions. Being able to adapt to different venues and circumstances has become one of our strengths.
Another challenge was standing out in a growing industry. As photo booths became more popular, we knew we couldn’t simply offer the same experience as everyone else. We continually upgraded our equipment, expanded our backdrop and template offerings, improved our software, and looked for new ways to create memorable experiences. That commitment to innovation eventually led us to introduce our drone-powered 360 Booth and Glambot-style video system.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight. Building a reputation takes years of consistently showing up, providing great service, and creating experiences that people remember. While there have certainly been challenges along the way, each obstacle taught us something valuable and helped make the business stronger.
Looking back, those early struggles taught us to be adaptable, creative, and resourceful. They also gave us a deeper appreciation for how far we’ve come, from building our first photo booth just in time for an event to becoming a family-owned, women-owned business that continues to grow and evolve.
We’ve been impressed with Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths is a family-owned, women-owned entertainment company that specializes in creating fun, interactive experiences for weddings, schools, corporate events, nonprofit organizations, and private celebrations.
What started as a single open-air photo booth has grown into a full-service photo and video experience company. Today, we offer traditional photo booths, custom photo strip designs, themed backdrops, fun props, green screen experiences, GIFs, boomerangs, a drone-powered 360 Booth, and a drone-powered Glambot-style video system.
What sets us apart is our focus on the guest experience. We don’t just set up equipment and walk away. We engage with guests, encourage participation, and make sure everyone has fun. Our goal has always been to create memories, not just photos. That’s why we chose the name Lotsa Laffs. We want people to laugh, be themselves, and enjoy the experience.
We are also constantly innovating. While many companies offer traditional photo booths, we continue to invest in new technology and creative experiences. Our drone-powered 360 Booth and Glambot-style system allow us to create cinematic content without the bulky equipment typically associated with those experiences. This gives our clients something unique while maintaining a setup that is efficient and adaptable to different venues.
What I’m most proud of is that Lotsa Laffs has become a true family business. What began with my husband and me has grown to include our two daughters as owners. Together, we’ve built a company that combines creativity, technology, and customer service while helping people celebrate life’s special moments.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know about our brand, it’s that we’re passionate about creating experiences people remember. Whether someone is stepping into a photo booth, spinning in a 360 video, or starring in a Glambot video, we want them to leave smiling.
Snap It. Spin It. Star in It.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I didn’t really have a formal mentor when I started Lotsa Laffs. Much of what I learned came from hands-on experience, trial and error, and a willingness to teach myself new skills. I learned everything from designing photo strip templates to troubleshooting equipment and managing events.
What has helped me most is building relationships with people in the event industry. Through DJing, weddings, corporate events, and networking groups, I’ve connected with venue managers, photographers, event planners, and other business owners. Those relationships have been invaluable because people are often willing to share advice, recommend solutions, and refer clients.
My advice is not to be afraid to ask questions. Most successful business owners are happy to share their experiences. You don’t necessarily need one official mentor. Sometimes you can learn different things from different people. Attend industry events, join local business organizations, and build genuine relationships. Networking works best when you focus on helping others and creating connections, not just promoting yourself.
I’ve found that some of the best opportunities and ideas have come from conversations with other business owners who have faced similar challenges. Being open to learning and surrounding yourself with positive, knowledgeable people can make a big difference in growing a business.
