Conversations with Jurgita Stahlecker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jurgita Stahlecker.

Hi Jurgita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Lithuania and have always been drawn to beautiful design and craftsmanship. After living abroad and eventually moving to the United States, I decided to follow my passion and create my own brand, JURGI.

I started JURGI with the belief that accessories should be timeless, functional, and thoughtfully made. Building the brand has been a journey filled with challenges, learning experiences, and many rewarding moments. What began as a small dream has grown into a business whose products are carried by customers around the world and have been featured through collaborations with organizations such as Wimbledon and the US Open.

Today, as a Lithuanian designer based in the United States, I continue to create pieces that combine quality, simplicity, and lasting value—reflecting the philosophy behind JURGI: less noise, more soul.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a business from scratch has come with many challenges. As a small independent brand, I’ve had to wear many hats and learn everything along the way, from product development and sourcing to marketing and logistics. There have been setbacks and moments of uncertainty, but each challenge has taught me something valuable. Looking back, I believe those experiences have made the journey even more meaningful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a designer and founder of JURGI, a handbag brand specializing in timeless leather and canvas accessories inspired by an active lifestyle and understated luxury. My focus is on creating pieces that are both beautiful and functional.

I believe what sets my work apart is the balance between simplicity and craftsmanship. Rather than following trends, I aim to create timeless pieces that are made to last and bring a sense of ease and quiet confidence to everyday life. My philosophy is simple: less noise, more soul.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One of the things I’ve learned throughout this journey is that success doesn’t happen overnight. Building something meaningful takes time, patience, and staying true to your vision.

I hope the JURGI brand encourages people to embrace quality over quantity and to choose bags that are made to last. At the end of the day, I believe that the most beautiful things are often the simplest.
