Iris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started during COVID when I began doing nails from my home. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into something much bigger. I discovered that I genuinely loved helping women feel confident and providing a service that combined beauty, self-care, and personal connection.
As my skills and clientele grew, I became committed to continuously improving my craft. I invested in education, advanced training, and learning specialized techniques such as Russian manicures and builder gel services. The more I learned, the more I realized I wanted to create an experience that was different from the traditional salon setting.
That passion eventually led me to open Iris Nail Studio, a private one-on-one nail studio in York, Pennsylvania. My vision was to create a space where clients could enjoy a quiet, clean, and personalized experience while receiving high-quality nail services. I wanted my clients to feel relaxed, valued, and confident from the moment they walked through the door.
Building the business has come with its share of challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. Today, I continue to invest in advanced training and focus on providing luxury nail services that prioritize both beauty and nail health.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every client who trusted me from the beginning. Their support helped turn a small home-based business into the studio I have today, and I’m excited to see where the journey leads next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was finding clients and earning their trust. Every appointment was an opportunity to prove myself and show the quality of my work.
Another challenge was balancing all the responsibilities that come with being a business owner. As an independent nail artist, I wear many hats. I’m not only providing services, but also managing appointments, marketing, social media, continuing education, finances, and client communication. There have been moments of self-doubt and times when growth felt slower than I hoped, but I learned that consistency and patience are key.
Investing in advanced education was also a challenge because it required both time and financial commitment. However, I knew that if I wanted to offer a higher level of service and stand out in the industry, I needed to keep learning and improving my skills.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight. Building a loyal clientele and opening my own private studio took time, persistence, and a lot of hard work.

I am the owner and nail artist behind Iris Nail Studio, a private one-on-one nail studio in York, Pennsylvania. I specialize in Russian manicures, structured builder gel overlays, acrylic enhancements, and natural nail care. My focus is not only on creating beautiful nails but also on helping clients maintain healthy, strong natural nails.
Over the years, I have invested heavily in continuing education and advanced techniques because I believe my clients deserve the highest level of service possible. I am passionate about precision, attention to detail, and creating results that are both beautiful and long-lasting.
What I’m most proud of is building a business that reflects my values. I dreamed of creating a space where women could slow down, relax, and enjoy a luxury self-care experience. Today, that vision has become Iris Nail Studio—a private environment where every client receives personalized attention and never feels rushed.
What sets me apart is my commitment to quality over quantity. In an industry where speed is often prioritized, I focus on delivering detailed, customized services tailored to each client’s needs. My studio offers a quiet, clean, one-on-one experience with properly disinfected and sterilized tools, allowing clients to feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in the services they receive.
Many of my clients tell me they appreciate not only the quality of my work but also the experience itself. They know they can come in, disconnect from their busy schedules, and leave feeling refreshed and confident. Creating that combination of artistry, education, and genuine client care is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe the most important qualities behind my success have been perseverance and a commitment to continuous learning.
I also believe that growth never stops. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and I have made it a priority to continue investing in education, advanced training, and refining my skills. I always want to provide the best possible experience and results for my clients, which means staying open to learning and improving.
Most importantly, I genuinely care about the people who sit at my table. I want every client to feel valued, comfortable, and confident when they leave my studio. That dedication to quality, client care, and continuous growth has played a significant role in where I am today and where I hope to go in the future.
