Daily Inspiration: Meet Zack Jarosz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Jarosz.

Hi Zack, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a young photographer that came from a small town in central Pennsylvania. I studied in Orlando at Full Sail. After a cancer (and covid) diagnosis in 2020, I moved back to PA to start treatment. Throughout my treatment, I dove deeper into my creative expression in an effort to inspire those who were watching. After, I worked a labor job to save up and move to Philadelphia to cultivate my talent and business. Years into living here, I had a reoccurrence and had to fight cancer once again. I am now 7 months into full remission and continue to pursue my dreams.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no. Cancer has forced me to press paused on my life many times. I’m blessed to come through the treatments alive and without debilitating chronic symptoms. Building clientele for my business and making ends meet is not always easy. I continue to eat healthier, stay in the gym, and find new ways to get my talent seen.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a photographer and videographer. I’ve been shooting stills for over 8 years and video for 3. I’m proud to have worked Philly Fashion Week and many of the models involved. I’ve also worked with The Law Department of Philadelphia. Shooting events and their annual group photo. My specialty is fashion portraiture. In this, I’m frequent NYC and surrounding cities to attend fashion events. My style is cinematic and moody. On top of this, I’m highly selective of my subjects and settings. The constant quality control of my work and stylistic integrity is what sets me apart from the rest.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the passion that Philadelphia has. There’s an innate hard-working mentality derived from Pennsylvania culture. I don’t like the pride in being gritty. Often times, the city is more apt to represent grit rather than class.
