Hi Candy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I founded SugaShoc Photography in April 2013 with a passion to document the chapters of your life that matter most. Based in my Doylestown studio, I specialize in capturing timeless newborn, maternity, family, and empowering boudoir photography. My journey has been about creating a welcoming space for clients across Bucks County, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware, focusing on genuine moments of joy and celebration.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road! When I first started in 2013, one of the biggest challenges was mastering the intricate art of custom newborn photography. It takes immense patience, specialized training, and a deep understanding of newborn safety to properly mold and pose a sleeping baby. Learning how to blend that technical safety with high-end creativity—like mastering complex newborn composite images in editing—took years of dedication. Additionally, learning how to make clients feel entirely comfortable and confident during intimate sessions like maternity and luxury boudoir was a skill I had to intentionally nurture, but it has made the journey incredibly rewarding.
