Hidden Gems: Meet Keyliz Nunez of Editionstyles Vintage Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyliz Nunez.

Hi Keyliz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started as a content creator in 2020. Creating content was actually my first dream before entrepreneurship ever entered the picture. I grew up loving fashion, beauty, femininity, and storytelling. I was that little girl who loved pink, princess dresses, heels, and admired confident women on magazine covers. I always knew I wanted to create something beautiful someday, I just didn’t know what that would look like yet.

In 2020, I started posting content online and creating dreamy photo shoots for Instagram. I would thrift vintage clothing, props, furniture, and décor pieces to bring my creative ideas to life. Over time, I collected so many beautiful items that my bedroom became completely filled with inventory. One day while cleaning my room, I looked around and thought, ‘Okay… I might actually be becoming a hoarder.’

That’s when I had a spontaneous idea, what if I opened an antique booth and sold the pieces I had been collecting?

I immediately thought about this antique mall in Pennsylvania that I had visited years earlier with my dad on a rainy day. I remember being completely fascinated by it, and my dad casually said, ‘You could have a booth here one day.’ That moment stayed with me.

When I reached out, they had space available, but not where I expected. I originally dreamed of being on the beautiful first floor, but the only available space was hidden in the basement near a garage door where dust would constantly blow in. It was dirty, hidden, and far from glamorous.

At first, I was disappointed because earlier that year I had put a beautiful storefront with large windows and natural light on my vision board. Instead, I got a tiny hidden basement space with two small windows I could barely reach but I decided to make the most of it.

I transformed that overlooked space into something beautiful, and unexpectedly it became one of the most talked-about spaces in the building. I started sharing the journey online through YouTube, and people began traveling hours just to visit my booth.

About a year later, I planned to move into a bigger space inside that same building. But everything kept going wrong, the elevator broke, I couldn’t move my furniture, renovations were delayed, and it felt like every door was closing.

One night, while I was frustrated and feeling defeated, my mom showed me a Facebook listing for a storefront. The moment I saw it, I knew it was mine. It’s hard to explain, it felt like when someone finds the dress, the house, or the dream they’ve been waiting for. The window looked almost identical to the one I had saved on my vision board.

That same night, I called, emailed, and did everything I could to secure it. There were over 25 people interested in the space
but somehow, I got it.

The dream I thought would take me two years happened in less than one.

I turned 22 years old sitting on the floor of my empty store surrounded by paint cans, balloons, cake, and the people I love most. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.

When we opened Editionstyles Vintage Shop, I was overwhelmed. People traveled 5, 6, even 8 hours to come support my store. Seeing a line outside my grand opening was surreal because these were dreams I had quietly carried since I was a little girl.

Now, just months later, I’ve expanded online, grown my YouTube channel, which was my very first dream and I’m now hiring help for my business. I’ve also built Miss Antoinette, where I design romantic vintage-inspired handbags.

And while I’m proud of what I’ve built, I think what I’m most grateful for is who this journey has made me. Entrepreneurship has challenged me, humbled me, and shaped me into the woman I always hoped I’d become.

And honestly, I feel like I’m only getting started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, absolutely not, it has definitely not been a smooth road. I think social media often shows the beautiful finished product, but people don’t always see the chaos behind building something from the ground up.

When I got my storefront for Editionstyles Vintage Shop, I gave myself only one month to completely transform the space because I wanted to open before December and take advantage of holiday sales. That meant I had 30 days to paint, install wallpaper, design the space, source inventory, and completely bring my vision to life with my family.

My brand is very whimsical, romantic, pastel, and detail-oriented, so I’m very particular about aesthetics and I quickly realized my old booth inventory wasn’t enough to fill an entire storefront. So while renovating, I was also constantly sourcing more inventory and trying to prepare for opening day.

On top of that, I actually failed my first inspection because I was given incorrect information during the process. That was incredibly frustrating because when you’re a new business owner, you trust people who are supposed to guide you and unfortunately, that setback cost me time. I had to restart parts of the process and fix everything quickly.

At that moment, I remember feeling overwhelmed because I had this huge deadline hanging over me. But somehow, with a lot of long nights, support from my family, and a lot of faith, I still opened on time.

And honestly, the challenges didn’t stop there.

As my business started growing, I was suddenly managing my storefront, online orders, launching my website, planning photoshoots, creating content, growing my YouTube channel, running Miss Antoinette, and fulfilling customer orders, all while mostly doing everything with my mom.

People see the pretty store, the handbags, the content but behind the scenes, I was juggling so many responsibilities at once.

At one point, I pushed myself so hard that my body forced me to slow down. I ended up in the hospital after experiencing what doctors believe was a stress-related seizure/fainting episode. That was a huge wake-up call for me.

It made me realize that success means nothing if you’re not taking care of yourself along the way.

Now I’m learning how to delegate, hire help, build healthier systems, and create more balance in my life. I’m still incredibly ambitious but I’ve learned that rest is just as important as hard work.

Entrepreneurship has been beautiful, but it has also been messy, exhausting, and incredibly humbling and I think that’s what has made me stronger.

As you know, we’re big fans of Editionstyles Vintage Shop. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Editionstyles Vintage Shop is a vintage boutique located in downtown York, Pennsylvania, and it truly feels like stepping into a real-life dollhouse or storybook.

Everything in my shop is very feminine, whimsical, romantic, and nostalgic. I specialize in curated vintage clothing, dreamy dresses, accessories, handbags, home décor, trinkets, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind treasures that feel timeless and special.

My aesthetic is heavily inspired by vintage femininity, think shabby chic, coquette, florals, lace, bows, soft pastel colors, and pieces that instantly make people feel nostalgic. A lot of customers tell me that walking into my store reminds them of their mother, grandmother, childhood, or a softer era in life, and I love hearing that because creating emotion through design is so important to me.

I think what I’m most known for is creating a shopping experience that feels magical. It’s not just a store, it feels like stepping into my world.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is creating an experience that people remember.

Whether someone walks into Editionstyles Vintage Shop in person or orders from me online, I want them to feel like they’re stepping into something special.

When someone walks into my store, I want it to feel magical, the scent of the store, the music, the way everything is curated, the way customers are treated. I want people to feel welcomed, celebrated, and accepted no matter who they are. I want it to feel luxurious, personal, and memorable, like they’re experiencing something they can’t find anywhere else.

The same goes for online orders. I package everything with so much care because I know someone chose to support my dream, and I never take that lightly. I want opening one of my packages to feel exciting and beautiful, almost like opening a gift.

Storytelling also matters deeply to me. Whether I’m creating campaigns, photoshoots, content, or designing products for Miss Antoinette, I always want there to be meaning behind what I create. I never want to put something into the world just for the sake of selling it, I want it to tell a story and make people feel something.

And one of the most meaningful parts of what I do is giving forgotten pieces a second life. So many vintage treasures are left on dusty shelves at thrift stores, estate sales, or are thrown away and end up in landfills. I love being able to find those pieces, restore their beauty, and help them find a new home where they’ll be loved again.

I think that’s what matters most to me, creating beauty, preserving history, and making people feel something meaningful through the things I create.
