Community Highlights: Meet Suman, Prakash, Nobon Shrestha And Kandel And Ghalley of Curryzone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suman, Prakash, Nobon Shrestha And Kandel And Ghalley.

Hi Suman, Prakash, Nobon , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
: One year ago, Curryzone opened its doors with a vision of sharing the flavors, cultures, and traditions that have shaped our lives. Located at 3800 Trindle Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011, our goal was simple — to bring authentic Indian, Nepali, and Indo-Chinese cuisine to the community while creating a place where people could connect over great food and meaningful moments.

Over the past year, Curryzone has become more than just a restaurant. It has become a gathering place for families, friends, and food lovers to experience the rich spices of Indian cuisine, the warmth of Nepali dishes, and the bold flavors of Indo-Chinese cooking. From handcrafted momo and flavorful chowmein to comforting curries, every dish is rooted in tradition and prepared with care.

We are proud to offer something for everyone, including vegan options and a kids’ menu, making Curryzone a welcoming destination for all ages and tastes.

We opened our doors with the hope of creating more than just a restaurant — a place where everyone feels welcomed like family. When guests come to dine with us, we want them to feel the warmth, comfort, and love of being at home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — it’s been a roller coaster ride filled with challenges and valuable lessons. From staffing struggles to maintaining the quality and consistency of our food, there have been many obstacles along the way. One of the biggest challenges has been helping guests understand that our longer wait times come from our commitment to quality over quantity. Every dish is prepared with care, and we never want to compromise on the experience we provide.

All of these struggles have taught us patience, resilience, and the importance of constantly improving. Every challenge has helped us grow stronger, and we continue learning every day to make ourselves and our restaurant even better.

As you know, we’re big fans of Curryzone . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a family-owned restaurant built from a passion and dream that we carried for many years, and it’s incredibly rewarding to finally see it come to life. Our goal has always been to create more than just a place to eat — we wanted to create a welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and experience the comfort of home through food and hospitality.

At Curryzone, we specialize in authentic Nepali, Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisine. Our menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian, non-vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Every dish is prepared with care, using flavors and recipes that reflect our culture, traditions, and love for food.

What sets us apart is the heart behind what we do. We truly believe every restaurant and every cuisine has its own unique strengths and flavors. We are not here to compare ourselves to others — there are many wonderful restaurants, and everyone has their own tastes and preferences. We are simply proud to share our version of authentic flavors with our community in a genuine and meaningful way.

In today’s world, where so much of our time is spent on phones and technology, we are proud that Curryzone has become a place where people can truly connect. Families and friends come together to share meals, laugh, tell stories, and spend meaningful quality time with one another. Creating those moments and memories is just as important to us as serving great food.

The thing we are most proud of as a brand is the atmosphere and connection we have built with our guests. We have opened our home to our customers, and when they walk through our doors, we want them to feel like they are part of our family and that this is their home too. Seeing people enjoy our food, celebrate special moments, and return with their loved ones is the greatest reward for us.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons we’ve learned throughout this journey is that if you do something with honesty, passion, and genuine dedication, you will eventually see the results. Success may not come instantly, and there will always be challenges along the way, but staying true to your values and continuing to work hard always pays off in the end.

For us, the most rewarding part has been seeing people connect with our food, support our dream, and continue coming back with their friends and families. Over time, we have also created a new kind of family — not only our Curryzone team, but also the wonderful guests who keep returning and supporting us.

That sense of community means everything to us, and it reminds us every day why we started this journey.
