Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivonn Reyes.
Hi Ivonn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to the U.S. as a teenager and eventually settled in Reading, where I finished high school. Those early years taught me how to adapt quickly and stay focused, qualities that would later shape my approach to business and life.
Transitioning into real estate was a leap. I went from the stability of a salaried job into a fully commission-based career, all while raising my two children as a single mom. It was uncomfortable and uncertain at times, but it forced me to grow quickly, trust my instincts, and stay consistent even when results weren’t immediate.
A major turning point in my career came when my business began to grow organically through referrals. That shift showed me that the relationships I was building truly mattered. My approach has always been simple, be present, be honest, and genuinely care. Over time, that has created a client base that feels more like an extended network of people I truly value.
Now, I’m focused on continuing to grow and scale the business alongside my son and my fiancé, Robb Melendez. The three of us work together as a team, and that dynamic brings a unique level of commitment, trust, and shared vision to everything we do. Building something meaningful together, both personally and professionally, has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting from zero in a commission-based industry is challenging on its own, but doing it while being a single mom added another layer of pressure and responsibility. There were moments of uncertainty where the lack of stability felt overwhelming.
Shifting from a guaranteed income to one that depends entirely on performance requires a different mindset. It pushes you to stay disciplined, consistent, and mentally strong, even when things don’t go as planned. Those early challenges taught me resilience and forced me to grow both personally and professionally.
Looking back, those struggles played a big role in shaping how I run my business today and how I show up for my clients, with empathy, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Today, I’m in real estate and part of the Ivonn Reyes & Robb Melendez Group, where I focus on helping clients navigate one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, buying a home. What drives me is not just the transaction, but the responsibility of guiding people through a major life milestone with clarity and confidence.
I’m proud of what I’ve been able to build from the ground up and, more importantly, the number of families I’ve helped along the way. Each transaction represents more than a sale, it represents trust. Many of my clients become long term relationships, and that’s something I truly value.
What sets us apart is how relationship driven our approach is. We don’t just focus on real estate, we focus on people and community. One of the ways we’re doing that is by creating video content that highlights different local businesses and entrepreneurs in our community. It’s important to us to not only serve our clients, but also to support and bring visibility to the people and businesses around us.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like most about Reading is the sense of community. There’s a strong network of local businesses, families, and professionals who genuinely support each other. I’ve seen how people show up for one another, and that’s something you don’t find everywhere. It also makes what I do even more meaningful, because real estate here is so connected to relationships and trust.
Another thing I appreciate is the growth and potential the city has. There are so many hardworking individuals building businesses and creating opportunities, and it’s exciting to be part of that. Being able to highlight and support local businesses through our videos has made me value that even more.
If I had to point out a challenge, I’d say that sometimes the city’s potential is underestimated. There’s so much more here than people realize, and I think it deserves more recognition and investment. But at the same time, that also creates opportunity for growth, for development, and for people who truly see its value.
