Inspiring Conversations with Kathy Moore of The Moore Resilient Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Moore.

Hi Kathy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It took three beginnings to arrive at the right one.” The Moore Resilient Group represents what I see as my final and most meaningful career chapter—a culmination of everything that came before it.
My professional path has been anything but linear. I built a diverse careers across human resources, sales, marketing, recruiting, real estate, and team development. Each role sharpened my ability to understand people, build relationships, and grow something meaningful from the ground up—skills that would later become essential in developing my practice.
Prior to 2008, I was thriving in real estate, fully immersed in a fast-paced and successful career. Then the market collapsed. Like so many others, I experienced significant financial devastation and was forced to find a new direction. What initially felt like an ending became a pivotal turning point.
I had always felt a pull toward the mental health field, but “life got lifey” as it does and it had a way of steering me toward more immediate, practical decisions. I followed paths I knew would provide stability and income. As a single mother, my priority was simple and unwavering: keep the lights on and create a secure foundation for my family.
But that deeper calling never went away.
When everything shifted, I finally gave myself permission to pursue work that aligned with both my purpose and my lived experience. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in psychology and began working in an inpatient setting where I started in an entry level position. Over time, I grew into a Director position, spending 12 years in that organization before that role was ultimately eliminated. Reinvention again?
Once again, I found myself at a crossroads—needing to reinvent, reimagine, and integrate everything I had learned with the passion that had been calling me all along. And once again, I answered.
That is how The Moore Resilient Group was born—a name that reflects not just a business, but a journey of resilience, reinvention, and growth.
What began as a solo/lone wolf endeavor quickly evolved into something much greater. The team I had worked alongside for years as their director, believed in the vision and took a leap with me; they “jumped ship”, no questions asked. To this day, I am confounded and beyond grateful for their faith in me. Today, we are a group of seven highly skilled clinicians, each deeply committed to providing meaningful, effective care to the people who trust us and are in pain.
The Moore Resilient Group reflects not only our professional expertise, but our shared understanding of adversity and transformation. Our culture is rooted in respect, collaboration, and genuine care for one another—core values that extend directly to the people we serve.
We believe in doing the work that matters. Our focus is on helping people get well, not keeping them in therapy indefinitely. Because we know firsthand that what feels like an ending can often become the beginning of something far more meaningful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The narrative reflects many of the challenges i.e. reinventing one’s self three times, trusting intuition and unsure of future stability when starting the practice. No longer are any of these issues a concern.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
“Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin—that’s what therapy is for. Just showing up is a meaningful first step.”

Think of what Rumi noted a long, long time ago:
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you,” by poet Rumi.
