Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly.
Hi Molly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ever since graduating from college, I have been involved in marketing in a variety of different fields. Kicking off my career, I started in the promotional products, print, and distribution world at One Point, Inc. in Scranton, PA. I next transitioned into the Affiliate Marketing world while working for Pepperjam in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I then made my way back to One Point, Inc. while joining their sister company, Corporate Environments, in Bethlehem, PA. This career change further introduced me to the B2B world and the furniture manufacturing and office supply industries. Leading the marketing charge for these organizations helped me to better learn how to develop and implement marketing strategies. Which has led me to my current role at Altitude Marketing. Starting as a Client Engagement Manager and most recently promoted to Senior Client Engagement Manager, I have had the opportunity to continue to grow at Altitude. In my role, I am the primary point of contact for select Altitude clients. I work directly with the account team to implement creative marketing strategies, help our clients achieve their business goals, and ensure an overall successful partnership.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wish I could say I knew I would be a business major and that it was my main path from the start, but that was not the case. I started my journey with the goal of being a graphic designer. After not being selected for my program of choice, I decided to enter college undeclared and see where life would take me. After a few initial courses, I knew business, specifically marketing, was the path for me. My first marketing course felt as though I was where I was meant to be. The cool thing about this field is that you can go in a variety of different directions. As my career outline shows, I have held various marketing jobs, each very different. At times, these winding paths have caused me to second-guess what I was doing and where I wanted to end up. However, they have helped shape me into the career I am in now and have made me very well-rounded across the various aspects of marketing. There are various aspects and tidbits of knowledge from my past roles that truly come in handy at unexpected times, and I am grateful for them!

I work for Altitude Marketing, based in Emmaus, PA. Altitude is an integrated marketing agency that starts with “the View from 30,000 Feet.” Our award-winning, full-service marketing communications team builds brands and drives leads for business-to-business companies operating in complex, highly technical industries like the life sciences, manufacturing, and technology. In other words, we’re not like the integrated advertising agencies you’re used to.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Never be afraid to ask questions and get involved! When you are first starting in a career, reaching out to higher-ups can be somewhat intimidating. However, asking questions, seeking advice, and seeking mentorship are extremely important. In the end, we are all just humans, and asking questions and for help truly allows us to grow and build further connections. Also, get involved with your local community! Whether volunteering with a local non-profit or joining a local young professionals network, putting yourself out there helps build connections and community.
