Inspiring Conversations with Mitzi Campbell of Your Positive Moment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitzi Campbell.

Hi Mitzi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After nearly three decades as a college professor and going head-to-head with a debilitating health crisis, I felt called to move outside of the confines of the four walls of a classroom to facilitate expansion in the school of life. I am a Mindset Specialist, the Founder of Your Positive Moment and the host of The Blessons Podcast. I work with people to help them go after their desires, self-actualize, improve their life skills and extract powerful lessons & blessings from life experiences to live their true potential.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I often say, if the road has been smooth, you’re on the wrong road. I believe part of our life mission and the reason we are here is to learn and we can only do that through challenge, which is why we are tested in life. These tests are gifts. They are opportunities to grow and I have had many such opportunities! From moving through seasons of loss and grief to rediscovering myself in the “empty nest” phase to most recently overcoming a health challenge and major career pivot. I embrace the struggles because the ability to see the good in things we might be tempted to perceive as “bad” is a top tier life skill. A notable struggle has been moving from working for an institution to being a solo-preneur. It has been a wonderful journey that has allowed me to flex and build muscles I didn’t know I had.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Your Positive Moment?
I created a 60-second morning reset tool, a daily message that quietly resets your mindset before the world gets to you. It comes to you, so you don’t have to do anything. No app. No endless journaling or meditation or rigid routine. I’m known for mindset, positive psyche work, growth, abundance thinking and keeping a high vibe, especially in hard times. I get this from my father, who has sent out a daily text to my sister and I and all his grandkids for decades now. One day, when I was feeling down, I got his regular text and I had an epiphany. I felt better after his simple little, “Good morning. I love you. You can do anything.” And it hit me the compound effect these morning texts have had on me, so I decided to beef them up a bit and create a movement, a program where everyone can sign up to get messages like the ones my dad sends to his family. I wanted to carry on his legacy. He is my inspiration. I want people to know that having a meaningful and happy life can be as simple as tuning in to the right messaging. The best time to do this is first thing in the morning. Your Positive Moment starts as soon as you open you eyes.

What makes you happy?
Life makes me happy. I’ve learned to notice things and to be intentional about where I direct my focus. I can close my eyes at any second of the day and tap into gratitude for something and that is where happiness is born. Things like my pillow, my warm blanket, flowers, birds, trees, sunshine, a chocolate covered almond, a hug, my connection to faith, a new leaf on my plants, puppies, babies, smiles, I mean, it’s endless.
