Today we’d like to introduce you to LAURA WYMAN.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Health aficionado from day one, I always knew that I would pursue a path that involved helping others. As a child, I envisioned pursuing life in a white coat and walking the halls of hospitals that had been like a second home to me. I was a pretty sick kid who spent far too much time at various Children’s Hospitals. I did, in fact, obtain that white coat. Life in those hallways was not quite the vision I had hoped. Decades in the medical field, first as a Registered Nurse and then as a Nurse Practitioner, conditioned traditional thinking right out of me. A pivot away from disease management and into entrepreneurial wellness opened doors that would otherwise be slammed in my face. As owner and CEO of our fitness facility, I am able to guide clients toward increased strength, resilience and true transformation. We offer all-inclusive packages for all ages and all levels, increasing accessibility and are thrilled to share phenomenal results with our members.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life as I know it has not been smooth. Quite the opposite. Easy Street is not my fortay…the saying “go big or go home – that’s me, to my core!”
Major and severe medical crises including years of chemotherapy, a pacemaker, and multiple spinal fusions embedded a iron clad prioritization of my own health. I do not take mobility for granted. In hindsight, this may be why I forever battle for those in vulnerable situations. It has also given me an incredible level of compassion for our clients. I completely understand the nature of setbacks and comebacks.
A complete financial do over forced me to master finance, a topic I would have otherwise blissfully ignored yet has served our small business incredibly well.
Perhaps the most difficult struggle was moving from one side of the country to the other, literally rebuilding from nothing, There is a profound emptiness in the reset. And yet, it is simultaneously frightening and exhilarating to rebuild your entire world in midlife. I now know what I bring to the table. And frankly, I am not afraid to eat alone. These struggles have made me who I am today, and I’m not to shabby!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
This entity is truly built from our heartstrings – we strive to over-deliver each and every single day.
A smaller, private, all-inclusive fitness facility, we have expanded to full virtual global capacity with a custom branded app. This was a GAMECHANGER for us, opening doors across the country, and even internationally as our clients travel.
Initially specializing in athletic development and sports performance, we now offer private training for all ages, adaptive fitness services, nutritional guidance, transformation and wellness programs.
Our training, multi-board national certifications and combined experience totalling more than fifty years clearly distinguishes and elevates us within the industry. Blending top level athletic recognition with decades of exemplary clinical experience, our team obtains exemplary results. Where else will you find former D1 athletes, Certified Trainers, a Physical Therapist, Nurse Practitioner, Women’s Health Coaches and Nutrition Coaching? Known for our tenacity and determination, our bull logo tangibly predicts our mission. Client testimonials and biometric data yields mind-blowing, goal-oriented trends that leave us inspired to continue our mission of educating and empowering people to become as strong as they can possibly be. We have facilitated D1 scholarships for our athletes, adaptive strength for autistic and Parkinson’s clients, prehab and rehabilitated many, and guided weight management members to triple digit decreases while building muscle mass and increasing metabolic years of life.
Whether novice or competitor, we would be honored to welcome you to Wyman’s!
