Daily Inspiration: Meet Debra Mosley-McCray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Debra Mosley-McCray.

Hi Debra , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
First and foremost, I give God all the glory for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will continue to do in my life. As far back as I can remember, I have always been creative and deeply compassionate toward those who are sick. It is by the grace of God combined with hard work, resilience, self-motivation, my faith, and many seasons of sacrifice that I stand where I am in 2026.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My life has never followed a smooth or effortless path. From birth, I encountered hardship, childhood trauma, spiritual abuse from trusted leaders, closed doors, betrayal, rejection, deep pain, and moments that brought me face to face with death.
Yet every ounce of opposition proved insufficient to destroy me or derail God’s purpose for my life. Thanks be to God, I’m still standing!
For those hidden beneath seasons of pain and uncertainty, Understand that this is not your conclusion. There’s another chapter ahead. One marked by healing, joy, and a happier, restored version of you. God is faithful to complete what He started. He specializes in mending the broken. Trust Him, and press on.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have always loved both art and science and feel deeply passionate and called to each. I serve as a Nursing Professor, teaching students across all levels, from beginners to seniors. Much of my strength as an educator is rooted in a lifelong foundation of teaching dance. I am a former dance studio owner and currently work as a freelance dance ministry dancer and mentor, supporting dance ministry leaders as they cultivate and rebuild their ministries.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The Bible serves as both my compass and my anchor, shaping my values and keeping me grounded. In addition to my faith, my daughter and son are a constant source of inspiration, motivating me daily to grow, lead with integrity, and strive to be better in every area of my life. I also draw inspiration from a few artistic, ministerial, and nursing professionals whose leadership I admire.
