Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonya LaRae.
Hi Sonya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business at just 18 years old, while I was still in university. Long before I had a title or a formal plan people were already coming to me. Friends, family, classmates, associates. They trusted my eye and my instinct. They would bring me their wardrobe and say, “Help me figure this out.” And I always could.
I was remixing pieces, upcycling looks, reworking what they already owned and turning it into something that finally felt like them. I didn’t just see clothes. I saw potential. I saw identity. I could look at someone and immediately envision how they could show up more confidently in their body and in the world.
Makeup came just as naturally. It wasn’t about trends or heavy glam. It was about revealing, not masking, I had an intuitive way of enhancing features and creating a look that aligned with who someone was becoming. People would sit in my chair and leave feeling seen, not just styled.
What surprised me most was how often the conversations went deeper. Friends would come for wardrobe advice, but stay for life advice. The would ask questions, vent, share crossroads they were standing at. And whatever I said seemed to land. It resonated in a way that stopped them in their tracks. I didn’t force it. I didn’t study it. I simply knew what to say.
Even then, I was aware that I had found my calling. I understood that helping people see themselves differently was part of my purpose. But I also knew there was another gift living inside me. A quieter, deeper pull. One that went beyond style, beyond beauty, beyond the exterior.
That second calling was about the inner world. About clarity, identity, emotional truth, and alignment. I didn’t have language for it just yet at age 18, but I could feel it. The more I studied human behaviors I was being shaped to do more than dress bodies. I was being prepared to help people curate their lives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it wasn’t a smooth ride. Not even close.
I had no mentors. No roadmaps. No capital. What I did have was drive and an undeniable passion that refused to be quiet. I kept moving forward on instinct alone. And just as the wind was starting to catch my sails (4 years in), life interrupted me in a way I never saw coming.
I went in for what was supposed to be a “minor” procedure. LOL! I came out paralyzed.
For five and a half years, my life was placed on a supposed pause. Life wanted to press a full stop. I spent months and years in and out of rehabilitation facilities. My best friend who bought into my dream for my company dug in to carry the ball while I was rehabbing.
Here’s the part that surprises people: I never felt sorry for myself. I wasn’t angry. I didn’t ask “why me”. Because who would I wish this upon? Deep down, I knew this wasn’t the end of my story. My faith kept whispering, you are going to walk again. And I believed it, even when my body couldn’t move.
Those five and half years changed everything. It taught me compassion at a level most people never reach. I learned to see far beyond the surface. I learned how to listen to what isn’t being said. I learned how to read energy, emotions, and the quiet places people hide from the world.
That season shaped me.
It forged the Luxury Lifestyle Architect you see today.
My clients, associates, and friends often say the same thing: “I feel seen. Even before I see myself.”
And that is not accidental. That is the result of pressure, stillness, and deep refinement.
Smooth has never been something I welcome. Diamonds are not formed in comfort. They are created and cut under pressure.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
LaPaz Image Consultants is not a styling firm, a coaching program, or wellness brand in the traditional sense. It is a private Lifestyle Architecture House built for people who carry a lot, lead a lot, and are quietly tired of holding everything together on their own.
What people should know first is this:
We curate lives, not just looks.
At LaPaz, we specialize in high-level 1:1 lifestyle curation for C-suite executives, high-performing entrepreneurs, professional athletes, and public figures who are outwardly successful but internally stretched thin. Our work sits at the intersection of lifestyle counseling, fashion psychology, image strategy, and holistic wellness. Nothing is treated in isolation. Everything is connected.
What we do is help our clients regulate, realign, and redesign how they live so success no longer comes at the expense of their health, identity, or peace.
We are know for seeing what other miss.
Clients come to us thinking they need a wardrobe shift, a presence upgrade, or a lifestyle reset. What they quickly realize is that we address the root, not the symptom. We look at how someone eats, rests, dresses, thinks, moves, communicates, and makes decisions. We observe patterns, pressure points, and energy leaks. Then we rebuild from the inside out (cellular levels).
This is where our specialization stands apart!
LaPaz Image Consultants is deeply rooted in fashion psychology and nervous system awareness. We understand how clothing affects confidence, how environments affect regulation, how routines affect clarity, and how unresolved internal tension shows up in leadership, relationships, and health. Style here is not about trends. It is about alignment. Wellness is not about restriction. It is about sustainability. Image is not performance. It is truth. (period!)
What truly sets us apart is the level of intimacy and precision in our elite 1:1 service.
We work privately, discreetly, and intentionally (with purpose). Every client experience is customized. There are no cookie-cutter programs, no mass coaching, no surface-level fixes. Our clients receive direct access, thoughtful observation, strategic guidance, and lifestyle frameworks that evolves as they do. We curate wardrobes, yes, but we also curate boundaries, habits, environments, schedules, and self-perception.
People often say working with LaPaz and Sonya LaRae feels like having a personal strategist, counselor, image architect, and wellness advisor in one trusted relationship in my pocket.
What we want your readers to know about our brand is simple and clear:
We are for people who are done performing success and ready to live it. We are for leaders who want clarity without burnout. We are for individuals who value discretion, depth, and excellence.
LaPaz Image Consultants exists to restore harmony between ambition and well-being. To help powerful people feel grounded in who they are, confident in how they show up, and supported in how they live.
This is luxury with intention.
This is refinement with purpose.
This is elite 1:1 lifestyle curation at its highest level.
This is why we can say our tagline with confidence:
“Where Everything Is Fabulous!”
